Annual time series data spanning 1981 through 2020 were obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria 2021 statistical bulletin, and utilized in this research. The error correction methodology was adopted in the analysis while the ordinary least squares technique was employed in the estimation. The findings showed that financial development, foreign direct investment, as well as their interaction had no impact on economic growth of Nigeria in the short-run. In the long-run, however, the findings indicated that both financial development and foreign direct investment significantly promoted Nigeria’s economic growth. In addition, the effect of the interaction between financial development and foreign direct investment significantly hindered economic growth of Nigeria in the long-run. The study concluded that financial development and foreign direct investments are relevant determinants of economic growth of Nigeria. Policy focus on financial deepening to expand the absorptive capacities of the domestic economy was some recommendations made.</p> Oyegun Gbenga, Davidson Iyayi Copyright (c) 2022 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://economics.academicjournal.io/index.php/economics/article/view/568 Wed, 14 Sep 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Attaining Gender Equality in Post-Conflict Society: the Inexorable Course to Sustainable Peace-Building https://economics.academicjournal.io/index.php/economics/article/view/569 <p>Ethnic, political, historical, economic, social and gender tensions within countries, and the quest for dominance by state and non-state actors are subsumed in a quantum of deleterious consequences. Despite, rivalry among global superpowers, there is no evidence of a decline in regional disputes or in organised violence by ethnic groups, religious fundamentalists, banditry, secessionist movements or terrorists. These internal conflicts are made more complex and lethal by modern technology and communications, international collaborations and the proliferation of cheap, but destructive weapons in the hands of young people. Contemporary conflict portends aggravated vulnerability of civilians, defined along gender and age strands, where women, girls, children and the aged are the most abused, raped, widowed, discriminated, debased and dehumanised. They are despondent, subjugated, traumatised and denied access to social good, status, education, health and equal rights - the fundamentals of equitable and just society. While data are derivatives of qualitative method, strands of feminist and social action perspectives offered latitude for theoretical analysis. It is alluded in the paper that peace-building in the post-conflict era would be elusive and ephemeral if gender equality is not actualised through social investment, gender intersectionality, masculinity connectivity, criminalisation of gender discrimination and violence.</p> Emmanuel U Awak Copyright (c) 2022 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://economics.academicjournal.io/index.php/economics/article/view/569 Sat, 17 Sep 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Iqtisodiy Masalalarni Yechishda Ko’p Omilli Korrelyasion-Regression Tahlil Va Geteroskedatlikni Aniqlash https://economics.academicjournal.io/index.php/economics/article/view/570 <p>Maqolada Samarqand viloyatida 2021-2006 yillarda go’sht ishlab chiqarishning go’sht narxi, veterinariya xizmatlari, ish haqi, oziqa birligi uchun qilingan xarajatlar ekonometrik tahlil qilingan.
